It's a Start!

I know, I know...all you want is pictures of the girls! But this is a start! All is well in our world and I will get back into a routine of posting updates, with pictures. Lily had fun trick or treating last night. Bella slept through the entire evening! Donna and Ampi, can you email me your pictures from last weekend?
My mini update on each of us: Fuego is Fuego. I am exhausted and in need of a pedicure and a nap. McKenzie is a helper as usual. Lily is quite a handful lately - I had to give her a little pop on the bootie in Kohl's earlier today and she started yelling at me, "You no give me pow-pow Mommy, okay?!" But I mean YELLING. Repeatedly. Like there were Moms laughing. Bella has been feisty and demanding today. The only thing that makes her happy is to play with my cell phone, and she is teething, so that means drooling, which means my Blackberry is completely taken apart and laying out to hopefully dry, so that it might work again. Have a GREAT Monday and I'll post again SOON :)

Girls Together At Last!

Just as we're starting to get into the groove of things...it's time for Mom to go back to work. I have successfully gotten out of the house with the girls, without crying, dressed with makeup. Once. But it happened!
I have come up with the greatest invention of all time if anyone is interested: install a mirror on the inside of your freezer door. This is the only place where makeup can be put on without sweating to death, without your kids trying to steal your makeup, or even talk to you for that matter. All they can do is stare and wonder what you're doing.
Lily woke up today officially "herself" again and that is a huge relief. Let's just say that somewhere along the way she learned how to be quite needy, demanding and overall high maintenance. Probably got it from her Dad, but that's just a guess :p
Isabella started sleeping through the night last week, and has done it every night since. Last night was my first night to not have to set my alarm for every four hours to give Lily her medication, so it was my first time to sleep through the night! WAHOO!
McKenzie is performing Monday night in an AISD-wide Recorder Music Performance. Top performers from each elementary school are invited to rehearse and perform together, so we are looking forward to that! She is super excited that her teachers have announced no more homework for the rest of the school year. Better call to confirm that.
Mom got to see RENT Thursday night with some friends and actually enjoyed being away from Fuego and the girls! I've turned into quite the homebody lately :)
Fuego is Fuego. He has to put up with all of us. Mental note: check in on him to see what's going on in his world!

Miss Independent

Lily has decided to take this recovery thing into her own hands! She decided she was going "bye" and just grabbed her IV and took off. She also will not even get into the hospital bed, so she is sleeping on the pullout sofa with Dad and Mom is sleeping in the hospital bed! We are very grateful to the amazing staff here at Dell Children's Hospital. Although tonsils and adenoids are pretty standard these days (especially with my children!), it is not so standard to have them removed at this age. They are taking great care of all of us, the food is surprisingly good, the parking is free and the hospital itself is gorgeous.
Poor Fuego has his Real Estate Exam this morning as well, so in the top picture he is studying and holding Lily! If anyone knows how to overbook a week, it's me! Seriously though, the Exam was scheduled before the surgery. Thanks for all of the prayers, emails and text messages. They really help me get through the day!!

Eat Your Heart Out Chloe!!

JUST SO HAPPENS that the first smile caught on camera HAPPENS to be in a Dallas Cowboy outfit. Supreme Aunt Vicki and Uncle Ricky bought this for Cousin Chloe, who unfortunately was born into a Houston Texan Football Family and was featured on her blog in this outfit CRYING. Chloe, this is how you wear a Cowboy Outfit. Gracias Supreme Uncle Ricky and Supreme Aunt Vicki for your FABULOUS taste in sports AND clothes.
Love,
Your Favorite Supreme Niece,
Bella

Bathtime Fun!

Actually Lily was feeling a LITTLE left out during a mini photo shoot of Bella...so we took some bath time photos of LG.

Life is Good!

Miss Sarah is sick today, so Lily and Bella went to work with me this morning for a meeting. We're now watching cartoons while we eat PB&J Sandwiches and then we're going to take a nap - which I am certain that I need more than them. I can barely hold my eyes open!

We toured the Dell Children's Hospital yesterday in preparation for Lily's surgery tomorrow. The staff is really amazing and I'm feeling like I can handle this! Tonsils and Adenoids - standard stuff, but she's only two! I'm equally as nervous to be away from Bella, but my Mom will be here taking great care of her. Fuego and I will both spend the night with Lily tomorrow night. I will post updates.

Awake in Austin...

So Lily has started waking up in the middle of the night since Bella's arrival. Last night Bella woke up at 2:15 to eat. It took me until 3:00am to get her back to sleep. At approximately 3:02, Lily wakes up and comes in our room. She wants to get in bed with us, which I am really against, because she's a kicker and I'm still having abdominal problems. So I take her to her room and stay there with her until around 4:00am. I leave to go back to my room (she's still awake, but I'm freaking tired). At 5:00am she comes back in our room and announces "Lily no sleepy! Lily no sleepy!" I am so tired at this point I welcome her into our bed with open arms. But those arms are sticky. It suddenly smells very berry-licious. And I mean VERY BERRY. It's borderline sickening. But, like I said, I'm freaking tired. So I roll over and think to myself, I'll deal with this tomorrow...if I can just get another hours sleep...Next thing I know, Fuego is saying, "What the [bleep]?!" And then he decides to give her a bath. And she's crying the entire time. Loudly. So finally this is all over at like 5:45am and I get up to see what exactly happened. She had gotten into McKenzie's purse, put a half a pack of gum in her mouth and then emptied every tube of lipgloss onto her face, arms and in her hair. At 5:00am. F-U-N! Needless to say as Fuego was walking back to our room after getting her back in bed, his alarm was going off and Bella was waking up. It was pretty much decided right then and there that we probably won't be having anymore children :)

Falling Behind

I'm falling behind with the pictures, but I have a ton to put up this weekend. Just a few thoughts to let you know how my week has been in case you're one of the lucky ones who hasn't already heard from me! Eliseo went back to work this week and my babysitter and dear friend (I love you please don't ever leave me again) Sarah, went out of town. FOR THE WHOLE WEEK. So I'm having a few issues with my recovery and I'm not at 100%.
McKenzie - has been a big help, mainly with Lily, so for that I'm very grateful! She's started a fundraiser selling cookie dough and has been reorganizing her room all week. Every quiz or test I've helped her study for this week, she has already known everything on the paper! Yes!!
Lily - has been refusing to take a nap, she says, "Lily no sleep". She also wakes up in the middle of the night now too. Here's an example of her lately: she just pulled out a wipie out of the container, spit her chewed up broccoli into it, wadded it up, and put it back into the wipe container. When I told her that was not where that went, she held up her hand and said, "Move back Mommy. I got it." Well! Very good then.
Isabella - it was discovered (spare you the details) that she is allergic to dairy. So we have put her on Nutramigen, which is a more expensive and much more stinky formula (think powdered cheese). We will explore soy at a later date and I will begin researching how to un-dairy our lives once she is ready to move past formula. There is a good chance that she will outgrow this, but she will begin eating solid foods before we know that.
Mom & Dad - we are surviving. I'm trying to be a superhero as usual and do every night feeding by myself and then I get snippy with Dad because he's not helping. You know, the usual :)
Stay tuned for LOTS of pictures.

McKenzie Completes CTXSPCA Education Sessions!

McKenzie and Gage recently completed a workshop put on by the Central Texas SPCA that was sponsored by Dell. They completed four sessions where each week they met a different shelter animal and learned about the responsibilities of caring for an animal as well as different Microsoft Office Applications. For example they created an Excel spreadsheet to show the how much it would cost to own a dog in the first year. My friend Jessica that used to work at Wells Fargo taught each of the sessions and because they fell on Mike and Shell's weekends, Gage was able to go too! They earned a certificate, a t-shirt and iPOD Touches when they completed the last session!

Where's my family? Oh, in the kitchen...

She's so cute...wait, why are there bananas in this picture?
Oh, because my husband put her on the kitchen counter while he cooks breakfast...I have NEVER laughed so hard in my entire life.
Side comment: sometimes it takes a picture to let you know that you need a new toaster. That thing has got to be 10 years old.

First Outing

We had our first outing today - I had a Dr's appointment (that's the trade-off when you beg to be released early from the hospital - you have to go back to the Dr. sooner. It was worth it). We waited to take Lily to Sarah's until we were leaving for the Dr's appointment - so we had to get both the little ones ready. Ha! I think it took us an hour to get ready to leave, and I didn't even get a shower! I was going through the list in my mind of things to pack for a newborn and I was feeling pretty good about it until we got to the Dr. The first two things Eliseo needed weren't in there! Oops! I'm trying!!

So cute and cuddly...

She's like a little love bug!

Love at First Sight

Nana brought McKenzie to visit Bella in the hospital. She is so proud to be a big sister to another baby! She was all smiles. We are very excited to have everyone home together.
Lily is a big helper - she loved Bella right away! She actually cried in the car because she wanted her car seat to be closer to Bella's! She's quite the little narrator...she tells us, "baby crying" or "baby sleeping". She's just keeping us on our toes I guess!

Don't be jealous of how good I look. hee hee. Why do people always want Mom in the pictures? I'm not ready for makeup yet!

Sleepless Nights...

Last night was a little rough - even Miss Lily Grace is sleepy this morning. When she woke up this morning, the first thing she said was "Baby?"

Home on Day 3!

I convinced the Dr. to let us come home early and I am so relieved. Lily met her baby sister today and is LOVING her to pieces!! I will add pictures tomorrow after we get some much needed rest.
On a side note - I've watched more TV tonight than I probably have in the last year and there are some RIDICULOUS reality TV shows out there! The Exterminators? Gimme a break!

Bella - Day 2

She's bright eyed today! We had another good day and hope to go home tomorrow. Mom and Dad need some sleep. Well, at least more than 30 minutes at a time :) Marlyne and Jose, Garth and Roth, Mamaw, Thania, and Mario visited Miss Bella today. She is quite popular already!

Welcome Bella Faith!

Isabella was born on Monday the 30th at 8:25am. She was 19 inches long and weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. We are all doing excellent! She is such a sweet, calm baby and I'm doing great as well! We will probably be here until Thursday morning. I will have many more pictures to post later today. We have the most amazing family and friends that anyone could ever hope for and we thank you all for everything. Monday was also our anniversary - we received the greatest gift in Bella. We are amazed at all of our blessings. God is Good!

Staying busy until Bella's Arrival

It's our last weekend before our new baby is here. Fuego had to work Saturday so I took the girls to meet Aunt Kelly and Sopie and Sadie at McDonald's for some ice cream cones and playscape time. The girls had a blast and Mom and Aunt Kelly had a few laughs too - especially when Aunt Kelly had to climb up in the playscape to rescue Sopie from a fall. Didn't know you could move that fast did you?? :)

Wildseed Farm - Fredericksburg

We had so much fun with a visit from the family over Spring Break! Miranda, Todd, and Maddie brought Cooper and Chloe on their first little vacation, accompanied by Aunt Donna, to visit us. I didn't get enough time (or pictures) of the babies so I'm ready for another visit!! I'm praying for a quick recovery so we can travel to Houston soon. Check out what a great helper Lily is going to be - she was helping Aunt Donna feed Cooper AND still eating her popcorn. What a multi-tasker!

Chuy's 3/17/09

Amanda (Grasshopper) and Jennifer Solis joined us in celebrating McKenzie's 10th Birthday with a dinner at Chuy's. We sat on the patio and had a good time! She has had multiple mini-parties...and I'm thinking that's the way to go! Happy Birthday McKenzie. We are so proud of the little lady you are becoming :)

Handy Manny said it best! On Lily's birthday we went to work with Papa at one of his infamous offsites. SINCE it was her big day, we let her share a Coke with us and have a "Mexican Bread". We can't tell if she was having a good time or not though...whaddya think???
